I know that the traditional New Year's song is Auld Lang Syne. But like most people, I have no idea what it means.
So I want to nominate a new one for this occasion. And who better than the Divine Ms. M to sing it for us.
Happy New Year everyone...in my life, I love you more!

ReplyDeleteJust so you might hear it, You Tube Jose Feliciano singing this. It's on his very first album.
I'm not a HUGE fan of his, but he lays this OUT.
And, your posts today are just outSTANding!
SP, someone(Isonprize) shared this in the "Fired Up" thread at TOD and I feel sure you'll appreciate it if you haven't already heard it.

Don't 'shoot' me SP: I am really not trying to inundate your space. However, because of your views and music shared here, I sometimes see/hear things that remind me of this space. This one - 'We who Believe in Freedom Cannot Rest' - seemed appropriate for Jan. 1, 2012

Happy New Year!
TYVM both Blackman and VC for those music recommendations. I LOVE them both!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes VC, We Who Believe in Freedom is one of my all-time favorites. As you'll note, on the video is titled "Ella's Song" because it was written from the words of Ella Baker.
Thanks, SP. I'm learning more and more, little by little. :-) That's one of the beauties of the Obama Presidency for ME! It has pulled me out of my cocoon, dragged me kicking and screaming onto the Internet (I hate technology, 'cos I firmly believe IT hates me) and consequently I'm meeting new people and learning more.
ReplyDeleteForgot my manners...sorry! "Happy New Year" Mlf & Blackman! Enjoy the rest of your January 1st everyone on site!
And, a MOST Happy and blessed New Year to you, V C.
ReplyDeleteAnd, of course....
To YOU, Ms. Pants.
